CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY |
Craniosacral therepy is a kind of holistic
remedial process which is administered using very light touching for
balancing the craniosacral system in the human body. This system
includes the bones, nerves, fluids as well as connective tissues of
the cranium and the spinal area.
Function of the therapy: Craniosacral therepy is perfectly
appropriate for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder – ADHD,
headaches, persistent middle ear infections, pains and overall
health maintenance. This therapy is also recommended for treating
autism, fibromyalgia, heart disease, osteoarthritis, pneumonia,
rheumatoid arthritis, chronic sinusitis infections, and
gastroenteritis. Besides these, the therepy is also said to be used
in combination with other therapies for treating chronic fatigue
syndromes, back pains and menstrual abnormalities. Some Craniosacral
practitioners also state that this therapy has proved to be
effective for eye dysfunction, dyslexia, depression, problems of
motor coordination, temporomandibular joint dysfunction,
hyperactivity, colic, asthma in babies, floppy baby syndrome,
whiplash, cerebral palsy and certain nervous system disorders.
Description: the very first written reference to this therepy
used for the movement of spinal nerves and about its importance in
human life, is found in almost 4,000 years old Chinese text, wherein
the Craniosacral therapy was mentioned as ‘the art of listening.’
Precautions: The Craniosacral therepy is not recommended in
cases of severe systemic infections, recent fracture in the scull,
and intracranial hemorrhage or4 aneurysm of the brain stem.
Side effects: Patients may experience mild symptoms of
discomfort after craniosacral therapy because of re-experiencing the
trauma or already numb area transforming to life and become more
